Two members of a Beatles tribute band recreated the Liverpool group's infamous rooftop gig in London this morning (January 30th), despite being banned.
David Catlin-Birch and Andre Barreau - both members of the Bootleg Beatles - performed acoustically on the roof of the Apple building on Saville Row.
Their tribute came forty years to the day after The Beatles' played at the same location – a gig that was to be their last public performance together.
The band's impromptu gig in 1969 was halted by police after thousand of fans gathered on the street below.
Catlin-Birch – who plays Sir Paul McCartney – and Barreau – the bootleg George Harrison – had hoped to play a full set on the building.
However, police and council officials cancelled the show because of safety concerns.
Instead, the tribute Beatles played an acoustic version of 'One After 909' on the roof.
