We Are Wolves side project CLAASS were the talk of M For Montreal after day two closed in fine fashion.
The electro trio put on an impressive show at Juste Pour Rire following equally promising sets from Winter Gloves and Woodhands.
The night began amidst flurries of snow with sets from Montreal’s Chinatown and Toronto’s Arkells, the latter ploughing a similar furrow to the Hold Steady but with a poppy edge.
New Island Records signing Beast were the marmite band of the night with their mixture of Massive Attack meets Rage Against The Machine.
Today sees the last of the showcases take place and the action move venues to Foufounes Électriques and Metropolis before the big closing party.
Gigwise is particularly looking forward to seeing Karkwa plus We Are Wolves on their home turf.
More from Montreal tomorrow.
