Robert Plant: 'I Won't Tour Or Record With Led Zeppelin'

He responds to rumours...

Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has denied that he has agreed to tour once again with the band.

A recent report in the Sun newspaper
claimed Plant and Led Zeppelin's remaining members would return to the road next summer after entering the studio together.

In a statement, Plant said he found the constant speculation around the band's future “frustrating and ridiculous”, and insisted that he “will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin”.

Calls for a full Led Zeppelin reunion tour have been consistent since the bands reunion show at the O2 Arena last December - which attracted 1 million applicants for just 9,000 pairs of tickets.

Plant's statement went on to add that he would not tour again for at least two years following the conclusion of his current US shows with Alison Krauss.

The pair's collaboration album, which was released shortly after Led Zeppelin's reunion, has proved to be a huge seller for Plant.

"It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward," Plant said.

"I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."

The Sun newspaper initially reported this month that Led Zeppelin's remaining members were auditioning replacement singers should Plant not join them on tour.

  • Fair play to him for wanting to do something new! ****ing hell, god forbid anyone should move on from the overcooked muso wankery of late period Zep to something a bit more interesting. Not that I’m a huge fan of the Krausss collaboration ind, but still. Let him do what the **** he wants! he’’s a man!
