Carl Barat: 'It Wouldn't Surprise Me If Babyshambles Split Up'

Dirty Pretty Things frontman Carl Barat has been quoted as saying that he wouldn't be surprised if Pete Doherty's Babyshambles split up.

Barat's comments about his former Libertines band mate come amid reports of a fall out between Doherty and Babyshambles guitarist Mik Whitnall.

A disagreement between the pair has apparently been blamed on Babyshambles withdrawal from a festival in Belgium last weekend.

Speaking to the Mirror newspaper, Barat said: "It wouldn't surprise me if they split."

Despite his comment, and Barat's recent revelation that the Libertines have “unfinished business”, the Dirty Pretty Things frontman said if he and Doherty met “it will be just to say hello."

i adore pete!! he is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and babyshambles better not split up! they are ace live and also their bassist Drew is amazzzingly great at bass and has greeeat looks! Dpt are great as well, and carl is also fit as anythin but babyshambles are better. xxxxx i love you pete. x
