Kaiser Chiefs 'Annoyed' At Brit Awards Snub

Ricky Wilson isn't happy...

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson says that he is “annoyed” not to have made the shortlist for the Best Single at Wednesday’s Brit Awards.

Their track, ‘Ruby’, made the final ten names in the category but has not made the final five after the list was whittled down by the British public. Instead The Hoosiers, Leona Lewis, Take That, Mika and Mark Ronson will fight it out at the Earl’s Court bash.

Wilson commented: "Apparently we were in the nominees and then (someone handed me a piece of paper) with five nominees and we were not in there. Everyone knows Ruby is the best single, if you are gonna whittle them down to five, you'd think Ruby would be in there wouldn't you?"

He blathered on: "(The final five have) all got their merits, but I am just a bit annoyed. There is no point making enemies with these people cos they will all be there."

  • Hah. I love Ruby, it’s a great song, but HA! He shouldn’t expect it what an idiot. I’m so glad Leona’s up there. She didn’t epect it and i’m glad she’s atleast in the shortlist. I think either Valerie or Shine will win though (only girls vote for things like this :S), Bleeding Love is AAAAAAMAAAAZING. Best ever! IT SHOULD WIN.

  • I wouldn’y worry, Rick. Everyone knows, in our British entirety and in our hearts, that Ruby is the only winner. It’s so fantastic, it isn’t worthy to be up against all those other mediocre songs. I am a believer in Kaiser Chiefs... ****ing Halleluiah! ;)

  • Leona lewis win the brits? perlease. nobody has any taste in music anymore. and compared to mika, leona lewis and the hoosiers I reckon ricky had a right to expect to be in there. but honestly, nobody cares about the brits anymore. its no big deal.
