Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson has revealed that Lily Allen made a guest appearance on their new album because she was more reliable than Amy Winehouse.
The band recorded 'Off With their Heads', which charted at number two in the UK last week, alongside both singer's regular producer Mark Ronson.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Hodgson said the group could have chosen either singer but went for Allen because of Winehouse's past record.
"If you want female backing vocals and you're working with Mark Ronson you've either got Amy Winehouse or Lily Allen and Lily Allen is more reliable," he said
However, Hodgson revealed that Allen, who appears on the song 'Never Miss A Beat', still suffered from excessive paparazzi attention.
"She drove over, followed by all these paparazzi photographers. What a horrendous lifestyle she has to live,” he said.
Kaiser Cheifs were denied the top spot in last week's chart by AC/DC's new album 'Black Ice'.
