Nirvana's Kurt Cobain Life Story To Become Film
The life story of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is to be turned into a big budget movie.
According to reports, the script for the movie will be lifted from Charles Cross’ 2001 biography, ‘Heavier Than Heaven,’ which featured candid interviews with a number of Cobain’s friends and family.
Universal Pictures – who have secured the rights to ‘Heavier Than Heaven’ – have signed up scriptwriter David Benioff, who also wrote the script for the movie, ‘Troy,’ to adapt Cross’ novel.
Meanwhile, Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, will executive produce the movie alongside her attorney Howard Weitzman, reports Reuters.
It’s not yet clear whether former Nirvana drummer Dave Ghrol will be involved in the project because of his fractious relationship with Love and because Cross’ novel notoriously fails to include a contribution from the drummer.

This is such a shockingly bad idea.
- First, Courtney Love is a nut. So there’s that. Second, the guy who wrote Troy? Oh jeebus.
- Courtney Love is the right one to make
a film about Curt Coban, it can give her
a big comeback. They both had a lot of music. They have been someone. The avangard had something. Now there is one more chance.

- Kurt Cobain’s death has been a steady little earner for Courtney Love, as she has been releasing his back catalogue over the years whenever she needs some money. So this is her attempt to increase her earnings even further. She should just let him rest in peace and stop spending his money on drugs and liposuction.I agree with brian above, though, if the guy that wrote Troy is involved then it’s not likely to be a box office smash.
- k martin, first learn how to spell KURT the correct way before you begin to make any statements about him. and second, why should Courtney make a comeback off of Kurt, little selfish. If she really cared about him she wouldnt use him just so she can get money, she'd get her shit together and figure it out on her own, not finding a desperate way to get back on track. Courtney sucks, she needs to go away.
