More Kate Nash

Not happy with taking a back seat to Welsh songstress Duffy in the UK charts, Kate Nash has spent the last few weeks clambering for attention via celebrity gossip columns. It seems no one – not even the relatively reclusive Leona Lewis – can escape Ms Nash’s tongue. We should expect this though. As Nash’s debut album, ‘Made Of Bricks’, demonstrated, she’s not averse to saying what she thinks. ‘Merry Happy’, the album’s latest single, sees the singer – amongst the ripples of her piano - sing about an ex and what the future holds without him. “I can be alone yeah, I can watch the sunset,” she harps, defiantly. It’s quaint and typically Nash, but, with so many other female artists to choose from, the Harrow-born singer will have to learn to adapt if she wants the music to do the talking again.
