14 March, 2014: SXSW punters thinking they were off to see an unknown band were in for quite a shock on Friday, as Foxboro Hot Tubs, who are in fact made up of the entirety of Green Day, took to the stage. Billie Joe Armstrong arrived equipped with a confetti gun, and promptly organised a mosh pit and stage dive at the modestly sized Brazos Hall.
The band performed eight songs from Foxboro Hot Tubs' 2008 album, one song from Green Day's other side project The Network, and even a few Green Day numbers. Here's 11 brilliant photos from the band's eccentric and energetic set.
