Papa don't preach: Peaches Geldof and more recent rock star parents

  • Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Pique gave birth to a son, who they have named Milan, on Tuesday, 22 January 2013, announcing in a statement: "We are pleased to announce the birth of Milan Pique Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Pique, on January 22 at 9.36pm (8.36 GMT), in Barcelona, Spain," said a statement on the star's official website. The statement also adds that Milan is alsready being primed to follow in his father's footsteps rather than his mother's, continuing: "Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth."

Peaches Geldof and former S.C.U.M member Tom Cohen gave birth to their second son this week, named Phaedra - after a Tangerine Dream album, naturally. Phaedra joins Astala in the family, and there's no doubt that the two boys have very unique names.

But Peaches and Tom aren't the only stars in the world of music to have children - in fact, this year or so has seen a bit of a baby boom (and we're sure that the school musicals will be pretty awesome in the future).

Having said that, let's not forget Blue Ivy Carter. Jay-Z and Beyonce's daughter had already featured on a Jay-Z track soon after she was born, with her cries ending the track. We don't see many of these other babies picking up a guitar though - and we're sure their parents will hear more than enough of their crying without adding it to a song.

From Elton John to Lily Allen, we've seen one baby after another. Keep track of them all by taking a look through our gallery right now.
