Jagwar Ma, Daft Punk, Beady Eye: big albums for summer 2013

Albums that will soundtrack your summer

  • Lescop - La Foret: If ever there was an album that soundtracks the trouser-straining summer horn, it's the debut album from achingly cool Frenchman, Lescop. Sung entirely in French (which our GCSE skills are not up to translating), for English speaking audiences, the bass-heavy live dance melodies of tracks such as 'Les Nuit Americaine' and 'Un Reve' that do the talking. Out now.

Have you noticed? The winter is over (for now), people are wearing less in the way of coats and spending their evenings stood on pavements outside pubs. This means one thing - summer is on its way.

With the promise of days in the park and the uncomfortable strain of a flip-flop thong comes the question of what we will be listening to during the summer months, and while we all know the music scene can flip in a heartbeat, we've rounded up some of the albums we reckon will sound great in the sun.

From albums we're already familiar with (Peace) to future releases (Empire Of The Sun), from big names (Beady Eye) to brand new acts (Jagwar Ma), check out the 2013 records that we reckon will be soundtracking summers across the UK - and beyond.
