Katy Perry Planking Attempt Slammed By Fans On Twitter

Katy Perry's attempt to join in the current craze for 'planking' has been criticised by fans on Twitter.

The singer posted a picture online of herself supposedly planking, which involves posing for a photo while lying face down in an unusual public place, on July 4.

Despite being the day of Independence in America, Perry's attempt was slammed by Twitter users.

Most took offence at the singer's posture, which saw her hold her arms out in front rather than by her side.

Katy Perry has proven that even celebrities can’t keep up with all of the trends after her stab at the new Facebook ‘planking’ craze went embarrassingly wrong.

One Twitter fan said: “You’re doing it wrong! Legs and head down, hands by your side!”

Many others compared Perry's attempted plank to the Superman pose.

Music stars including Kings Of Leon, Chris Brown and Justin Bieber have all posted pictures of themselves planking on Twitter.
