Happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder is writing his first autobiography, publishers Transworld have announced.
The memoirs, which are as-yet-untitled, will be released in autumn this year.
The book will tell the story of Ryder’s entire career, from the Happy Mondays and Blake Grape through to his recent appearance on the reality show I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.
Ryder said: "I've been mithered for years to write my autobiography, but I've always said no because the timing never felt right.
“Plenty of other people have had their say on Happy Mondays and Black Grape, and now just felt like the right time to tell it like it really happened."
Transworld Editorial Director Sarah Emsley added: “We are absolutely thrilled to be publishing the raw, undiluted autobiography of one of the UK’s most beloved rock stars."
