Shaun Ryder has announced that the planned duet of ‘Fairytale Of New York’ with Stacey Soloman will not go ahead.
The ‘I’m A Celebrirty’ co-stars were rumoured to be releasing a new version of The Pogues’ 1987 Christmas hit ‘Fairytale of New York’. Now it seems that the single realease will not happen.
‘‘You wouldn't touch a song like that usually, you just wouldn't touch it. It's a classic tune, right? But because it was Stacey [and] me and we'd just come out of the jungle,’’ Shaun Ryder told Digital Spy.
He added: ‘‘On the spur of the moment when you got asked you say 'Yeah', but it had to be done the day that we said yeah. And if it wasn't it's just not going to happen - so it's just not going to happen."
Meanwhile, Happy Mondays bandmate Bez has taken part in an organised fight in Manchester, according to reports.
