Jimi Hendrix - Despite both emerging in the same decade, The Beatles had a clear influence over Hendrix’s song writing. At a gig in London 1967, he paid tribute to the band by opening the show with his own version of ‘Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band’. i-Tunes is a long way from the 60s. Back then Brian Epstein offered me the Beatles for £250, but local venues would not let me book. The local Drill Hall said it could not be used 'for that sort of thing'. The cinema said yes but couldnt move the screen! I booked Freddie Starr and the Midniters instead and then the venues pulled the plug completely.
