2. Ryan Adams: Heartbreaker (2000) - With his debut album Heartbreaker Ryan Adams cemented his place in the pantheon of great singer-songwriters. Illusions to Dylan and hero Gram Parsons are rife but with this, his best album to date, Adams confirmed he was very much his own artist. What’s more, the cover art perfectly sums up the prevalent of this brooding masterpiece.
