Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: The Boatman’s Call (1997) - Chronicling the dissolution of Cave’s relationship with PJ Harvey, The Boatman’s Call was cited as an influence on The First Days of Spring by Charlie Fink. Parallels are easy to spot; as piano driven opening track “Into My Arms” provides the perfect foundation on which Cave builds the following 11 perfectly executed laments.
