Below: Liberty Steps, B*Teeq - 9 pop hybrids with worse names than McBusted

  • Liberty Steps (Liberty X and Steps) - Imagine H from Steps squeezed into one of those 'Just A Little Bit' catsuits. ALSO Liberty Steps sounds like some kind of terrible 80s film in which Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as some kind of tough guy action hero with loads of guns who also moonlights as a politician with a good heart.

  • So Solid Blue (So Solid Crew and Blue) - We'd love to hear Lee Ryan's luscious vocal chords wrap themselves around '21 Seconds'. Perhaps Simon could also incorporate his 'rap' from 'All Rise' into the track. Perhaps not.

  • B*Teeq (B*Witched and Mis-Teeq) - Two of the most underrated girl bands of the early noughties, they should both join forces and have Alesha Dixon spit all over the fiddle breakdown in 'C'est La Vie'. Amazing.

  • Blazin' Life (Blazin' Squad and Westlife) - See you both at the crossroads, crossroads, crossroads, merging a tantalising blend of terrible suburban rap and bland pop with an Irish accent.

  • CleopAqua (Cleopatra and Aqua) - Repeat after us: "I'm a barbie girl and I'm comin' atcha." It's got hit written all over it. Terrifying.

  • Wet Wet Fred (Wet Wet Wet and Right Said Fred) - Sorry Marti Pellow.

  • O'Crazy Town (O-Town and Crazy Town) - Two communities join together, and sound, pleasingly, like an Irish rural village - one's a forgotten boyband who sang about 'Liquid Dreams' (blimey) and one had that vaguely nauseating song referring to a woman as a 'Butterfly'.

  • Hanberries (Hanson and The Cranberries) - "Did you have to, did you have to, did you have to let it - MMMBOP!"

  • All Spice - This would just be amazing and we think it should actually happen.
