To record 'My Generation'...

the whoLegendary rockers The Who are teaming up with irksome pop stars McFly to record a version of their seminal track ‘My Generation’ for a new download site.

The two groups will record the track on Sunday (September 4) and it will be available from HMV’s digital download site when it launches on Monday.

Mark Bennett, head of HMV digital, told the BBC: “'My Generation' is, without doubt, and all-time classic.

“I can't think of a better iconic anthem for HMV's new download service as it reaches out to existing fans and a new generation of music buyers alike.”

HMV digital will provide customers with downloads and a subscription service.

McFly have already covered a version of The Who’s ‘Pinball Wizard’ which was included as a b-side on their latest single ‘I’ll Be Ok’.
