Genre blurring indie/pop newcomers Swiss Lips have teamed up with chart topping stars Bastille for a remix of their new single 'U Got The Power'. Listen exclusively below.

Hotly tipped Manchester band have been making waves with their hi-energy guitar based pop sounds over the past year, and in 2013 are ready to make their assault on the UK charts, having picked up support from Radio One along the way. Swiss Lips supported Bastille on their 2012 tour, and now Bastille frontman Dan Smith has reworked Swiss Lips' new single, contributing his own vocals to the track, duetting with frontman Sam Hammond on the new version.

A smoother listen than Swiss Lips' energetic original, the Bastille remix is a mellow take on one of the coolest pop tracks of the year so far, with an additional pounding drumbeat drenching Swiss Lips' original with the sound with which Bastille have made their name.

Swiss Lips differ from indie bands with their electronic-edged sound, but the band maintain they are as much a 'proper' band as any other guitar group on the UK scene.

"We play our instruments. We are a real band. Everything we do is done by us," Sam Hammond of Swiss Lips tells Gigwise. "We write the music, we pretty much do everything. It's not pop in the more modern sense. We just write pop songs. It's all very feelgood, catchy. We just want to write things that stick with people and they remember."
