The Reading and Leeds festivals in 2005 have been voted as the best in the history of the event by Gigwise readers.
With a line up topped by Pixies, Foo Fighters and Iron Maiden and also featuring performances by The Killers, Kings Of Leon, Marilyn Manson, Kasabian, Bloc Party and Elbow Reading and Leeds 2005 was a great year for both huge bands and defining performances from some of the last decades biggest indie bands.
The 2005 event came first ahead of the 2002 festival (The Strokes, Foo Fighters and Guns 'n' Roses headlining) with 2008 in third and 2006 voted the fourth best festival.
Fans are clearly excited about this years event too with Reading and Leeds 2012 coming in fifth on the strength of its line up alone.
However, it is bad news for Reading and Leeds 2004 as that year has been voted as the least popular by readers. We suppose that's what happens when you book The Darkness to headline your festival.
The top 5 Reading and Leeds festivals ever according to Gigwise readers are as follows:
1. 2005
2. 2002
3. 2008
4. 2006
5. 2012
