With the news that Queen are to play Sonisphere Festival accompanied by American Idol contestant Adam Lambert replacing Freddie Mercury, we question who in music can even begin to take a walk in Freddie's shoes.
One of the biggest legends within rock music of all time, and such an incredible talent, Freddie Mercury is a man who simply cannot be replaced. Yet with the announcement of Queens gig at Sonisphere later this year, it comes into question whether a contestant from a talent show can really compare?
Adam Lambert himself has spoken of his role "There's no intention in my mind of replacing Mercury. That's impossible. The way I'm choosing to view it is that it's a great honour and one I'm in no way going to shirk."
Queen Confirmed For Sonisphere Festival 2012
Arguably the role of front-man of Queen should be given to somebody with more charisma, practise and experience of fronting such a huge band. We took a look at those who could possibly step up to the challenge.
From the older rockers such as David Bowie, Mick Jagger and George Michael who have all had incredible careers of their own, and could each install their own individual sass and swagger on stage to the younger stars such as Bruno Mars, Robbie Williams and Justin Timberlake who are all hugely successful, contemporary artists who could bring a modern day twist to the role.
You can vote for who you think would make a good replacement here.
Whether you think one of our suggestions would do Mercury proud, or have another suggestion, it is probably agreed by all that there is nobody alive who could handle the pressure and live up to Freddie Mercury's incredible talent.
