Nicki Minaj has been named the most followed hip-hop star on Twitter.
The rapper beat Eminem on Monday afternoon (January 9), with a total of 8.27 million followers compared to Eminem's 8.25 followers.
Last year Justin Bieber has joined Lady Gaga as one of the most followed people on Twitter.
The singer currently has 11.007 million followers on the site, with Lady Gaga in first place with 11.6million.
President Barack Obama is the third most followed user with nine million people following his account.
Meanwhile, Music stars and celebrities who update their Twitter account regularly are likely to have shorter careers, a new survey has found.
