    Little Mix's 'Cannonball' Lowest-Selling X Factor Winner's Single Since 2004

Little Mix's cover of the Damien Rice track 'Cannonball' has emerged as the lowest-selling single from an X Factor winner since Steve Brookstein in 2004.

The girl band's single went straight to number one in the Official UK Singles Chart on Sunday night (December 18), outselling the rest of the Top Five put together.

According to The Guardian their debut sold just 210,000 copies in its first week – less than half the amount shifted by Matt Cardle last year, when When You Collide sold 429,000 copies during its first week of release.

Steve Brookstein's 2004 cover of the Phil Collins track 'Against All Odds' sold 128,000 copies of his single after becoming the first winner of the talent show.

Meanwhile, In a recent interview with Gigwise one half of the couple behind the Rage Against The Machine and more recently Nirvana for Christmas number one campaign stated that this year he wasn't worried about competition from the X Factor.
