Emeli Sande has been named as the winner of the Critics' Choice Award at next year's BRIT Awards.
The singer beat off competition from Maverick Sabre and Michael Kiwanuka, who came in second and third place.
Speaking about her triumph, Sande said: To win a BRIT Award so early in my career is beyond a dream come true. I am overwhelmed to be the recipient of such a prestigious award. Thank you so much.
Sande follows in the footsteps of Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, Florence And The Machine and Adele, who have all picked up the award in the past.
The Brit Awards will take place at the O2 Arena on February 21 and as previously reported on Gigwise will see Blur pick up the Outstanding Contribution To Music award at the event.
