George Michael announced that he has split with long-term partner Kenny Goss as he kicked off his Symphonica tour in Prague last night (August 22).
Michael told the audience at the State Opera House that the pair hadn't been together for two and a half years, despite earlier this year denying reports they had broken up.
“I love him very much. This man has brought me a lot of joy and pain,” the former Wham! star said.
“My love life has been a lot more turbulent than I've ever let on, and I'm so sad about my relationship with Kenny. I'm sorry for any pain.”
Michael and Goss began their relationship in 1996.
According to the Daily Mail, the singer was close to tears when he performed his song 'Where I Hope You Are' in the Czech capital.
The gig marked the start of Michael's European tour, which is seeing him re-work some of his biggest hits with string arrangements.
