Iron Maiden frontman has been given an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Queen Mary University in London.
The singer, who earned a degree in history from the college in 1979, collected the honour for his contributions tot he music industry during a ceremony on Tuesday (July 19).
Hennemusic reports that Dickinson used his first time at university as an opportunity to follow his passion for music.
As well as front Iron Maiden, Dickinson is also famously a qualified commercial airline pilot.
It is his job to fly the rest of the band around when touring on their customized Boeing 757, nicknamed Ed Force One.
Earlier this week, Pulp's Jarvis Cocker was also given an honorary degree.
