Take That and Robbie Williams came together as they kicked off their UK and Ireland stadium tour in Sunderland last night (May 27).
The band delighted a sold-out crowd at the Stadium Of Light with what was the first of 29 mammoth stadiums gigs.
Take That’s performance was split into three parts: post-Williams, where the rest of the group performed without him, a section dedicated to the singer’s own solo career, and Take That with Williams.
The group were backed by an elaborate stage set, which was framed by a huge metal man.
The set included the Take That hits ‘Relight My Fire’ and ‘Never Forget’, while Williams’ solo songs included ‘Rock DJ’ and ‘Let Me Entertain You’.
Take That continue their UK and Ireland tour with four more dates at the Stadium Of Light, before calling at venues in Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin and Cardiff.
The tour concludes with a record-breaking eight straight gigs at Wembley Stadium in London in July.
