Plan B is set to appear alongside Ray Winstone in a movie adaptation of the cop show, The Sweeney.
The rapper-turned-singer – real name Ben Drew – has been cast as George Carter, originally portrayed by Dennis Waterman, while Winstone will play Jack Regan.
The classic TV version famously told the story of London's Flying Squad.
Nick Love will direct the movie version and told BBC News he was “very excited” to be working with Drew on the project.
The musician, who achieved commercial success with his 2010 album 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks', has previously starred in Harry Brown alongside Sir Michael Caine.
