The Strokes were joined on stage by Elvis Costello as they played the first of two gigs at Madison Square Garden in New York last night (April 1).
Costello appeared on stage during the new song ‘Taken For A Fool’, much to the apparent surprise of singer Julian Casablancas.
The veteran star then proceeded to perform vocals and guitar on the song. He had earlier opened at the gig.
The Strokes mixed songs from their new album ‘Angles’ with classic tracks, including ‘Last Nite’, ‘Juicebox’ and ‘Take It Or Leave It’, reports TheStrokesNews.com.
The band’s fourth album was released last month. They are expected to play a series of UK dates this summer.
The Strokes setlist was:
‘Is This It’
‘Reptilia’
‘Under Cover of Darkness’
‘Hard to Explain’
‘Last Nite’
‘Juicebox’
‘Someday’
‘You’re So Right’
‘Under Control’
‘You Only Live Once’
‘New York City Cops’
