Plan B and Everything Everything were the musical winners at this year’s South Bank Sky Arts Awards in London.
The rapper-turned-singer was presented the Pop Music award for his album ‘The Defamation of Strickland Banks’ by Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood.
Everything Everything beat names from the comedy and TV worlds to win Times Breakthrough.
The ceremony was hosted by Melvyn Bragg, who said the winners proved that the “arts in this country are vibrant and thriving”.
Other winners included the low-budget film Monster,s which carried off Best Film, while This is England ’86 won TV Drama.
Veteran actress Dame Judi Dench collected The Dorchester Outstanding Achievement Award.
The South Bank Sky Arts Awards will be broadcast on Sky Arts 1 HD tonight (January 25) at 9pm.
