Dr Dre’s new album ‘Detox’ will not be released on April 20, a spokesperson has said.
On Tuesday (January 17), video footage posted on Twitter of the rapper saying “4/20” sparked reports that the album was set for release on the date.
If genuine, it meant 'Detox' would have arrived on the same day as National Weed Day.
But a spokesperson for Dr Dre denied the reports when approached by MTV News.
The album, which is the follow-up to 1999's '2001', was originally due out in 2004, but has been hits by a series of delays. It was included in Gigwise's Most Anticipated Albums Of 2011.
Dr Dre said recently that 'Detox' would be his last artist album and that he intended to further his role as a producer.
