Kings Of Leon have admitted that their breakthrough single 'Sex On Fire' has cost them fans.
Drummer Nathan Followill said that as well as expanding their fan base, the 2008 song had also alienated their early supporters.
"I've gotten a couple of farewell emails from fans saying it was a good run, but we're to the point where they have to share us with too many people who don't like us for the 'right' reasons,” he told the Daily Mirror.
"But then those same people sent me emails two months later acting like nothing happened and they're back on the bandwagon!"
He added: "If everyone likes you it wouldn't be any fun, so it's good to have that variety in there."
Kings Of Leon release their new album 'Come Around Sundown' on October 18, although it has already leaked online.
The record is the follow-up to 2008's 'Only By The Night'.
