Lil' Wayne has claimed that he has received around “a million” letters from fans during his stay in prison.
The rapper, who is currently serving a one-year jail term for gun possession, said his fans' support was helping him through each day.
"[The] fans have been more than unbelievable," he said during a phone interview with new MTV show Seven from his prison cell.
"When I read those letters, that fan mail, and see what they say about what my music does for them, and how it helped them through situations ... to read that, that makes me take my words and my whole outlook on what I'm doing a lot more seriously.”
Lil' Wayne said he receives around 150 pieces of mail a day and that he sends most of the letters and gifts home.
Meanwhile, the rapper released his new album 'I Am Not A Human Being' earlier this week despite still being behind bars.
The songs on the album, which features Drake and Nicki Minaj, were recorded before he began his sentence.
