The Clash's guitarist Mick Jones has called for someone to start a campaign to save the 100 Club in London.
The venue, on Oxford Street, is facing closure due to raising rent prices in Central London.
Jones, who performed at the venue with The Clash, said he was “sorry” to hear it might be closing.
"It will be greatly missed if it closes,” he told Spinner. “Someone should start a campaign to save it."
He added that he would “love to help” a campaign, but admitted that “life changes”.
The 100 Club first opened in 1942 as a jazz club, and has also seen performances from the likes of Oasis and The Sex Pistols.
