Dr Dre acknowledged the delay for his much-anticipated new album 'Detox' during a special appearance at an Eminem gig in Detroit last night (September 2).
The rapper was one of a number of surprise guests at Comercia Park, and performed the songs 'Still Dre' and 'Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang' with Eminem.
Dre was greeted by huge cheers when he emerged on stage, as well as chants for 'Detox', which was originally due out in 2004.
In response, the rapper and producer told the crowd: “I'm coming.”
'Detox' is Dr Dre's long-awaited follow-up to his 1999 LP, '2001'. A number of songs, including one featuring Jay-Z, have already leaked online.
In a recent interview, Dr Dre said he expected the album to arrive before the end of 2010.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and D12 also joined Eminem on stage as he played the first of two homecoming gigs at Comercia Park last night.
The gigs move to New York's Yankee Stadium on September 13 and 14, where Jay-Z will headline.
