Director James Cameron, who was responsible for the box office smash Avatar, is set to work on a 3D documentary about the Black Eyed Peas.

The film will be shot during the South American leg of the group's world tour and feature a plot created by the director.

"We have the biggest director, because we are the biggest group on the planet,” singer will.i.am told Vibe magazine.

"People will be able to see us in the theatre with the 3D glasses and everything."

The as-yet-untitled documentary will be released in 2011.

Black Eyed Peas are currently on a world tour in support of their 2009 album 'The E.N.D'.
