The Strokes have split up their new band Venison after just one gig.
A spokesperson said the group, who performed at Dingwalls in London last night (June 9), “wanted to end on a high”.
“After a career playing only sold-out shows the band Venison are calling it a day,” a statement on The Strokes’ twitter page added.
As previously reported on Gigwise, performing under the temporary name, The Strokes thrilled fans at the intimate gig with a hit-laden 18-song set.
The US group were watched by an audience that included Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Luke Pritchard from The Kooks and DJ Edith Bowman.
The Strokes are set to the play the Isle of Wight festival and Rockness in Scotland this weekend.
