Adele's debut album '19' has topped the US iTunes digital chart following the singer's performance on last weekend's Saturday Night Live.
The singer's appearance on the programme coincided with a special guest slot from vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
The Republican took her campaign to SNL after the comedian Tina Fey began mimicking her on the show.
Over recent weeks, Fey, who shares an uncanny resemblance to the Alaskan governor, has been presenting false speeches and policies while dressed as the politician.
Palin's appearance last Saturday game the programme its highest viewing figures – 17million – since a special edition aired three weeks after 9/11.
