Echo & The Bunnymen have been confirmed as the headliners for a new free festival.
The legendary Liverpudlian outfit will play the Eclectica Music Festival in Victoria Square, St Helens on August 11.
As the name suggests, the festival features a diverse array of musical genres and is being held in association with Love Music Hate Racism.
Frontman Ian McCulloch said of the show: “We're really looking forward to playing such a great free festival so close to our hometown.”
Gary Maddock from St Helens Council added: “We are delighted to announce Echo & the Bunnymen as the headline act for this major event. As one of the best-known acts of the Eighties and one of the most talented bands ever to come out of Liverpool, they will no doubt bring in fans from far and wide.”
