We love our post-punk with a side-order of nonchalance. Belako's new single 'Profile Anxiety' gives us just that - an achingly cool piece of new album Plastic Drama - which will now come out in August.

Anthemic in the kind of way that really awakens an overblown teenaged sense of one's own coolness, 'Profile Anxiety' fucks with grunge and moments of something even heavier for a result that's somehow pop.

Delivered with a take-it-or-leave-it, sleepy ease, Belako have released their best Plastic Drama single to date.

“Profile Anxiety is a pop song of epicurean intensity” Belako explain in a press note, “It’s about how we admire, idolise and worship celebrity profiles on social media platforms. They occupy our memory & appear in our dreams, to the point where we think we know these people on a personal level."

Plastic Drama, the Spanish bands fourth full-length, will arrive in August. Originally pinned for release this month, the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have meant the album has had its drop pushed back.

Plastic Drama arrives 28 August via BMG
