Corinne Bailey Rae Loses Out On Aretha Role

Corinne Bailey Rae has missed out on a prized role of Aretha Franklin in a new bio-pic after the soul legend saw her on TV.

The British singer had originally been picked out by Aretha to star in the upcoming movie and her musical Aretha: From These Roots, before the star changed her mind as soon as she saw her in three-dimensions.

She explains to BBC radio, “I almost cast her as one of the characters in my play and in the movie, but when I saw her on TV. Well, her pictures look one way and when I saw her on TV she looked a little different so I don't think so."
