There is something very 70’s Sunday morning to ‘Goldmine’, perhaps it’s the bluesy acoustic guitars or vocals that float along with the very mellow vibe either way if you like your music gentle and somewhat unadventurous then this is the perfect tune for you. This, and the other two numbers ‘Foreign Water’ and ‘Bottle’, are ones to file under the ‘soft rock’ section, why? Listen to the steady drum beats, quiet country/blues tinged melodies and vocals that do nothing to inspire and it’ll make sense. Whilst you can hear touches of better influences like Lynnrd Skynnrd and the Beach Boys they are not brought out enough in the music to give it that snap to make it an essential listen.
