Ricky Gervais has brought his most famous comic creation back to the studio by releasing a studio version of 'Slough', as David Brent. Listen to the track below.
Over 13 years since The Office first awkwardly shuffled onto British screens, egocentric manager and aspiring musician David Brent has lost none of his power.
As NME reports, the song 'Slough' featured in Gervais Bloomsbury Theatre last year when he peformed with a backing band including Andy Burrows. Brent pays tribute to the opening hours of your average Tesco Express, the possibilities of Europe's biggest trading estate and the exceptional transport links of the Berks town. "And you know just where you're heading / It’s equidistant ‘tween London and Reading."

Gervais is set to return to our screens in mockumentary Life On The Road. He explained "Imagine if that was a real documentary – The Office – and David Brent was the person he was… He'd still be trying to be famous. You wouldn't go back and find him in the office – you would go back and find him repping like he is now, still trying to be a pop star and trying to get Simon Cowell‘s eye and trying to have his own YouTube channel."
Gervais also discussed the return of Brent in the 2013 Comic Relief Special.
