Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen have two of the most hated accents in the UK, according to a new study.
Both singers' cockney twang proved unpopular in a poll of 3000 Travelodge customers around the country.
Winehouse topped the survey alongside footballer David Beckham, another Londoner.
Meanwhile, singer Charlotte Church's Welsh accent and the Birmingham tones of Ozzy Osbourne are also off-putting, the study found.
However, there was more optimistic news for celebrities from the North East. The Geordie accents of Girls Aloud's Cheryl Cole and comedy duo Ant and Dec were voted the most popular.
Furthermore, the tones of Bolton comedian – and current UK number one - Peter Kay and Scottish-born radio DJ Edith Bowman also proved to be music to ears of the nation.
Greg Dawson, Travelodge director of communications, said the results show localised accents have caused a “national communication problem".
“Many Brits simply don't understand some of the UK's most loved regional dialects," he said.
