After someone created a Kickstarter campaign for Run The Jewels to remix their album using only cat sounds, El-P has begun auditioning feline candidates for the job. Watch the audition video below.
The idea originally began as a complete joke - among the special packages offered for their Run The Jewels 2 album was a "Meow The Jewels" package, which cost $40,000. The description read, "Run The Jewels will re-record RTJ2 using nothing but cat sounds for music."
Brilliantly, a fan set up a Kickstarter page to raise those funds, and has now raised over $60,000 from over 2,500 backers.
One half of Run The Jewels, El-P, has now shared a video from inside a local cat shelter, where he is auditioning cats for the album - concluding that "this record is going to be harder to make than I thought." The cats are about as uninterested as you could hope for.

The non-cat version of Run The Jewels 2 is set for release on 27 October.
