The king of sketchy shit hop returns with a new E.P, exclusively for those who attended his UK tour. KC belongs to the Tired and Lonesome label but every now and then he goes it alone and releases something himself.
Recorded between ‘now and then’ at Toybox studios in Bristol the kid delivers four slabs of technicolor goodness for your delectation. The bouncy mania of ‘Employee of The Month’ could urge a manic depressive off their lithium. True to life observations that could make Just Jack green with envy as the keyboard swirls into near insanity.
‘Make it Look Good’ is more laid back and starts as if the cast of Rainbow decided to make a porn film. Well let’s face it Rod, Jane and Freddie were always slightly dubious. ‘It’s all fur coat and no knickers - push up your floppy knockers.’ The title track has no real lyrics to it but it's one hell of a glorious mash up anthem that’s sure to be a favourite in future gigs.
With guest vocals and proper grown up keyboards from other people the sound may get compared to Lily Allen in parts but KC makes it all his own. Only the Dead Kennedy’s have surpassed the constant listening this inspires. This EP is what the repeat button was made for. Jolly good work Mr Kid Carpet - B+ for effort. Kindly see me after class.
