It’s no secret that This Feeling nurture rock ’n’ roll’s most breathtaking up and coming talent. Helping to spawn future festival headliners is just one of their USPs, so it’s no wonder that North London haunt Nambucca was full to the brim on Saturday night as the club night showcased nine bands and artists they think are going to own 2018. Gigwise’s girls on the ground Annie Warner and Katie Willoughby were there alongside Will Ireland to capture all of the electrifying action as it happened.
Lucie Barât opened the evening joined on stage by her band and got the showcase started in exactly the right way.
A bit blues, a bit pyschedelic, The Surrenders stood out with their undeniably old school sound.
Calva Louise evidenced exactly why they've been creating a buzz in and amongst the This Feeling scene for many months now.
Avalanche Party lived up to their name, as you can tell from these images.
Hey Charlie entwined strands of grunge and pop punk into their rockstar riffs.
Himalayas proved exactly why their Spotify streams are in the millions with some good old fashioned rock 'n' roll.
Sheafs' legion of loyal supporters encouraged a raucous party both on and off stage.
Anteros' indie pop with a Blondie-esque bite ensured Nambucca stayed at capacity until the end of the evening.
Judas showed off their stadium-ready riffs having already played the main stage at Reading and Leeds last summer.
And if you're gutted to have missed out, fear not - This Feeling are also throwing more Big in 2018 gigs in Manchester this weekend, and then again in London on 25 January before finishing up in Glasgow on 9 Feb with even more bands poised to take the year by storm.
