Tonight, Lucy Rose is playing the final gig of her UK tour. And tonight, as is her wont, she fills the venue with the bolder, highly synthed tracks from her second album, Work It Out.

Rose opens with 'Cover Up', and lets the punchy electric guitar compliment her trademark soft and dreamy voice - an indication of her new album's shift in sound. 'Lines' allows Rose to showcase vocals that are both delicate and piercing, absorbing and inescapable, captivating the audience.

Shyly, she confesses, "Oh my God, I can't tell you how weird this is. It's an honour to finish this tour in London with you tonight," before delving into 'Till The End' with silky, almost choral vocals. But it's 'Nebraska' that really showcases her rare and enveloping voice with its beautifully constructed melody, stripped back without a heavy instrumental accompaniment to allow her voice to be at the forefront.

By 'For You', her new musical direction is blindingly apparent, and though her sound is more mainstream than her debut album, Like I Used To, Lucy is fully committed to her decision to change things up, "I wanted to explore and try new things but stay true to who I am as an artist." Here, her confidence grows and she delivers a gentle performance of the new track.

Flyte, one of her supporting acts, appear briefly to help Rose with a romantic rendition of 'Like An Arrow', preceding a string of soothing tracks that Rose is eager to tap into - "There is nothing scarier than singing the slow songs, but I hope you don't mind more." The addition of the epically talented Rae Morris for a stunning duet of 'My Life' proves that Rose had nothing to worry about, before she jumps back to her signature style for 'Middle Of The Bed'.

Lucy Rose manages to punctuate her newer, synthetic sound with her trademark folk beautifully, drawing the audience into her electric new music before indulging them with her original silky melodies. "I'm sure it's clear it is unbelievably overwhelming, I've had the most amazing evening," she explains, and from the extended encore given by the audience it's clear that a new direction is still engaging old fans.
