'Go' by Grimes is just one of many
Grimes, 'Go' - Having only been revealed yesterday, we can't quite define this as 'massive' just yet, but we're fairly sure that's where it's heading. Well, as sure as we can be with our disappointing lack of psychic abilities. 'Go' was originally written for Rihanna, who is a multiple offender in this list as both the rejector and the stealer. This one she rejected, and so Grimes decided to keep it for herself instead. Good decision.
Last night (26 June), Grimes finally revealed the song - 'Go' - that was originally intended for Rihanna. After several listens, we're not entirely sure why Rihanna turned it down. It got us thinking though - what other massive songs of recent years could have been released by someone else if they'd been more on the ball? It turns out, a lot.
Frequently, in the music industry, big tracks are passed between artists when pop stars are recording new records. It's like Russian Roulette where the songs will end up - and sometimes, it's best that they end up back where they started...
